Lunar New Year Celebration/Tet Festival

Due to other activities, RVA is not organizing a Lunar New Year Celebration (Tet Festival) this year.

For those who may be interested, Hue Quang Buddhist Temple will be holding the following Tet/Lunar New Year related events:

  • Sat 2/13/2010 – New Year’s Eve Celebration.
  • 8:30 PM – “Mừng Xuân” Karaoke
  • 11:30 PM – New Year’s Eve “Mass” (Lễ đón giao thừa Phát lộc đầu năm)
  • Sun 2/14/2010 – Lễ Phật, Pháp thoại và Phát lộc đầu năm.
  • Sun 2/21/2010
    • 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM – Tet Celebration music/entertainment program
    • 3:30 PM – 6 PM – Games, food, and refreshments.

    Như Loan Concert Tentatively Scheduled for 3/7/2010 (Sunday) 4PM – 9 PM

    We have a tentative new date for the concert: March 7, 2010 (Sunday) from 4 PM – 9 PM. Location is to be determined.     Vietnamese Community Won Cultural Booth First Place at 12th Annual Asian American Celebration

    Thanks to the creativity, dedication, and hard work by RVA volunteers, the Vietnamese Community was awarded First Prize for our cultural booth at the 2009 Annual Asian American Celebration, held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on May 9, 2009. The theme of this year’s celebration was “the Art of Asia”.

    Tôi sinh và lớn lên ở tỉnh Bắc Giang miền Bắc. Phong cảnh nơi đây rất thơ mộng và dân tình thật hiền hòa. Không biết nhận xét của tôi có khách quan không, nhưng chỉ biết rằng tôi thương yêu Bắc Giang của tôi lắm.

    Bắc Giang là một tỉnh lỵ nhỏ bé, trước đây còn có tên là Phủ Lạng Thương. Nơi có con sông Thương nước chảy đôi dòng, bên đục bên trong và quanh năm tấp nập trên bến dưới thuyền. Rặng núi Neo trải dài gần một trăm ngọn phủ đầy thông xanh mướt tô điểm thêm cho tỉnh lỵ nhỏ bé này.

    Bắc Giang có nhiều thổ sản, như vùng Cao Thượng gần phía Nam Yên Thế có nhiều rừng hạt dẻ; làng Bố Hạ trồng cam sành, cam giấy, quít bộp vỏ xốp nhưng rất ngọt và bưởi đường; làng Phổng trồng mía sản xuất đường, mật giọt, đường phèn và đường thẻ.
